Blast valves and rapid closing valves are used in air ducts to protect buildings and personal from shock waves.Blast protection valves which close by the blast wave itself, are used in air inlet and outlet ducts to ensure the overall integrity of the shelter. Specially designed versions of the blast protection valves are available for installation in exhaust gas ducts and high temperature applications.
The range, which extends from the modular M1000 N2/C10 blast protection valves to the E/I series for casting into concrete, satisfies numerous installation requirements.
The M1000 blast protection valves offer high levels of protection and cope with large airflows. The

valve system has been designed so that the valves are able to withstand loads from both sides, making them highly suitable for sectioning or similar.
The M1000 blast protection valve system consists of valve modules that are always the same regardless of protection level, airflow, etc. The valve modules are installed into frames that are constructed according to space, airflow or other requirements.

The E/I blast protection valves are mainly used in defence bases which have stringent requirements for protection against shock waves and other mechanical weapon loads. The various kinds of E/I valves are similar in structure but are designed for different flows and impulse loads.
The valves can be used as inlet and outlet air valves.
Most of the blast protection valves are classified and certified; many have been proven in full-scale tests.
